Automation Alley Directors Share Their New Year’s Resolutions


2017 was a year of exciting new projects and big changes for Automation Alley, as we transformed our organization into Michigan’s Industry 4.0 knowledge center and worked tirelessly to help our members achieve success during a time of rapid technological change in the manufacturing industry. We vow to continue this mission into the New Year.

This week on the blog, Automation Alley’s directors discuss their vision for where our organization is headed in 2018 and share their professional New Year’s resolutions.

Tom KellyTom Kelly, Executive Director and CEO: “My 2018 goal for Automation Alley is to launch a new program for small and medium-sized manufacturers that helps them transform into Industry 4.0 stars!”

Pavan MuzumdarPavan Muzumdar, COO: “My resolution is to work with at least three member companies to help them transform into Industry 4.0-ready organizations.”

Noel NevshehirNoel Nevshehir, Director of International Business Services and Industry 4.0 Strategic Partnerships: “Professionally speaking, my resolutions are help Automation Alley reach $1 billion in export sales and 5,555 in new jobs created as a result. Also, I resolve not to fall victim to hubris based on the success of our Integr8 conference this year. Success can sometimes be the father of failure. From a personal standpoint, I will never take anything for granted in life including my good luck.”

Cynthia HutchisonCynthia Hutchison, Director of Business Development and Government Affairs: “My professional resolution is to create an even more compelling reason for companies across Southeast Michigan to become Foundation Members. In 2018, my goal is for membership to become a must for companies in our space.”

Maryann DaddowMaryann Daddow, Director of Finance: “I resolve to improve the quality and understanding of financial data to support decision-making. And I also won’t let other people control my schedule.”

Diane DeForestDiane DeForest, Director of Global Events and Initiatives: “My professional New Year’s resolution is to learn something new each day about Industry 4.0 and its components, supporting Automation Alley’s vision to help manufacturers on their path to success.”

Bruce A. LeggeBruce Legge, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Defense: “Develop a sufficient backlog of defense business to justify the hiring of an additional full-time employee skilled in the use of PTC CREO design software and the hiring of an additional full-time employee skilled in curriculum development/training.”

Karol FriedmanKarol Friedman, Director of Partnerships and Talent: "To Provide more training opportunities to Automation Alley member companies and to develop a talent pipeline that leads potential workers to employment opportunities in businesses."
