Sponsored Content and Third-Party Sponsors 

Automation Alley may make available reports, playbooks, white papers, webinars, events, and other content or resources that are funded, supported, or sponsored by third-party organizations (“Sponsored Content”). Sponsorship does not, by itself, constitute Automation Alley’s endorsement of a sponsor or its products or services. 

Access to certain Sponsored Content may require you to provide professional contact information. Automation Alley does not sell personal information in the ordinary sense of selling lists of personal information for money. We may, however, provide specified information to identified sponsors of Sponsored Content when you authorize us to do so. Depending on applicable law and the circumstances of a particular disclosure, certain transfers of information may be treated as a “sale,” “sharing,” targeted advertising disclosure, or similar regulated activity. Where applicable law requires notice, consent, or an opportunity to opt out of such an activity, Automation Alley will provide the applicable notice or choice. 

We do not disclose individual email addresses to members or other third parties for their independent marketing purposes unless the disclosure has been described to the individual and authorized, or another lawful basis permits the disclosure. 

Member Information Sharing 

Automation Alley may share member company details with other members upon request. This typically occurs when a member seeks to connect with businesses that meet certain criteria. The information shared may include names, job titles, company names, industries, and business addresses. Email addresses are not shared. 

Grant, Program, and Contract Reporting 

For funded programs and initiatives, Automation Alley may collect, analyze, and share company data with grantors, program funders, or other designated partners. The type and level of detail shared depends on the specific requirements of the program and the usage rights of the source data. Data obtained under third-party licenses, such as from commercial databases, will not be shared externally unless expressly permitted.

Sponsored Content and Sponsors 

Automation Alley may make certain reports, playbooks, white papers, webinars, events, or other content or resources available with funding or support from identified third-party sponsors. Access to certain Sponsored Content may require you to provide professional contact information. 

When disclosed to you at the point of collection, Automation Alley may provide specified professional contact information to the sponsor or sponsors identified in the applicable disclosure if you affirmatively authorize us to do so. The resource-specific disclosure or authorization will identify the sponsor or sponsors, the categories of information to be provided, and the purpose of the disclosure. 

Where affirmative authorization is required, Automation Alley does not rely on this Privacy Policy alone as authorization to provide your information to a sponsor. Your authorization applies to the sponsor or sponsors identified to you when the authorization is obtained and does not authorize Automation Alley to provide the information to a sponsor subsequently added to the resource unless an additional lawful basis or authorization applies. 

Sponsors that receive information for their independent purposes are separate organizations and may process that information in accordance with the authorization, their own privacy practices, and applicable law. 

Third-Party Service Providers 

We use third-party service providers to support operations such as CRM, email distribution, analytics, event registration, and other core systems. These providers are given access only to the data necessary to perform their services and are required to protect it. Third-party service providers that process information on Automation Alley’s behalf are distinct from sponsors or other third parties that receive information for their own independent purposes.

Payment Processing

Payments submitted through our websites are processed securely through Stripe. Automation Alley does not store credit card numbers or share payment data outside the secure payment process. You can view Stripe’s terms and privacy practices at https://stripe.com/legal. 

Marketing and Communications 

Automation Alley uses email, SMS, and other communication channels to communicate with members, partners, and contacts about relevant topics. 

Email updates are used to share information about our programs, events, services, and other relevant opportunities. We maintain several email lists to keep members and contacts informed. Automation Alley does not provide email addresses to third parties for their independent marketing purposes unless the recipient or recipients and purpose of the disclosure have been disclosed to you and you have authorized the disclosure, or another lawful basis applies and the disclosure is otherwise described in this Privacy Policy. 

If you authorize Automation Alley to provide your professional contact information to an identified sponsor, that sponsor may contact you for the purposes described in the applicable disclosure or authorization. The sponsor is responsible for its own communications and for complying with applicable privacy, advertising, and marketing laws. Your authorization for Automation Alley to provide professional contact information to a sponsor does not, by itself, constitute consent to receive telephone calls or text messages where separate consent is required by law. 

SMS messages are used only for one-on-one communication between Automation Alley staff and individual contacts, such as coordinating program participation or following up on a conversation. These are not automated messages and are not used for mass marketing or promotional purposes. Users may opt out of SMS communication at any time by contacting us or replying to the staff member with a request to stop. 

Automation Alley’s marketing practices are governed by U.S. law. We do not market to minors or intentionally target individuals in the European Union, and as such, we are not fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). 

You may opt out of marketing communications from Automation Alley at any time by using the unsubscribe mechanism provided in an applicable communication or by contacting us at info@automationalley.com. An opt-out from Automation Alley communications does not automatically unsubscribe you from communications sent independently by a third-party sponsor. To stop communications from a sponsor, you should use the opt-out mechanism provided by that sponsor or contact the sponsor directly.

Automation Alley uses cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies on our websites to support functionality and security, provide features such as chat and embedded videos, analyze website activity, and measure and improve our advertising. 

Depending on the website, these technologies may include Google Analytics, Google Ads, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Meta Pixel, YouTube, and Zoho SalesIQ. Use of Artificial Intelligence 

Automation Alley uses artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance its internal operations and services. AI is used in areas such as content development, data enrichment, analytics, and internal chat-based assistance. These tools help us improve the quality and relevance of the information we provide and support more efficient workflows. 

All outputs generated through AI are reviewed and edited by staff before being shared externally. We do not use AI to replace human judgment, but rather to support and strengthen it. Users may receive communications or insights that have been informed by AI, but they are always subject to human oversight. 

In some cases, company data may be used as part of the inputs for AI-driven processes. This data may be transmitted to third-party AI platforms, like ChatGPT. We do not, however, share sensitive company or personal information with these platforms, nor do we use AI tools to profile individuals or make automated decisions that affect users. 

Automation Alley is actively exploring, evaluating, and developing new AI applications. As our use of AI evolves, we remain committed to transparency, oversight, and the responsible use of these technologies.

Automation Alley retains personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, to administer our programs and services, to maintain appropriate business and transaction records, to document authorizations and disclosures, to comply with applicable legal, contractual, grant, and recordkeeping obligations, and to establish, exercise, or defend legal rights. 

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it is maintained. When information is no longer reasonably necessary for these purposes, we will delete, de-identify, or otherwise dispose of it in accordance with our applicable retention practices.
