Where do coatings make a difference? This 1.5‑day lunch‑to‑lunch workshop explores diamond‑like carbon (DLC) as a versatile, tailorable coating material. Exploring how DLC properties can be precisely adjusted for specific application needs while preserving low‑temperature processing and industrial scalability.
With practical examples, experts in DLC research and development, coating technology developers, and users from the field will discuss application areas, successful lab-to-fab transfer strategies, and emerging opportunities – demonstrating that diamond-like carbon offers far more than exceptional tribological characteristics.
This workshop is hosted by Fraunhofer USA in partnership with MDPI Coatings – Diamond and Related Coatings and takes place on November 4-5, 2026, in East Lansing, Michigan.
