Dr. Craig J. Hoff is the Dean of the College of Engineering and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Kettering University (formerly GMI) in Flint, Michigan. He has over 35 years in various teaching and administrative positions in higher education. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in energy systems and automotive engineering. His research focus is on sustainable mobility technologies including vehicle electrification and autonomous driving. He has conducted research and consulting projects with many companies and government agencies, including General Motors, Ford, Toyota, Ricardo, ArvinMeritor, Firestone, the U.S. Army TARDEC, and the U.S. Department of Energy. He is an active member of SAE International, ASME, IEEE and ASEE.
He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor, and his B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University. He is a registered professional engineering in the state of Michigan.
