YPSILANTI — Cybercrime is not going away. In fact, it is on the rise, posing a growing threat to individuals, businesses, and national security. With an estimated global cost exceeding $10 trillion annually and over 400 million people affected in the U.S. alone, the demand for highly trained cybersecurity professionals has never been greater.
Recognizing this urgent need, GameAbove made a $1.6 million gift in 2023 to support Eastern Michigan University’s (EMU) cybersecurity program. This contribution is helping equip students with the skills and ability needed to combat cyber threats and protect critical systems worldwide.
“GameAbove’s interest in the school’s Cybersecurity program is unwavering,” said GameAbove chairman and founder Keith J. Stone. “We recognize the threats to our country and citizens, so anything we can do to help prepare bright young minds to fend off those dangers is worth our financial commitment.
EMU has been at the forefront of cybersecurity education since the program’s inception in 2005. To date, 700 students have graduated from the program, with near 100% job placement. EMU students with cybersecurity degrees start their careers at companies such as Google, Amazon, CrowdStrike, General Electric, Cisco, SensCy, Snapchat, Bosch, Textron, Judy Security and more. For consecutive years, EMU’s online cybersecurity master's program ranks among the top affordable programs for 2025 by Cybersecurity Guide’s.
